Weekly Troupe Rehearsal Class 

Each individual team has a weekly rehearsal. Please reference the 2025-2026 season schedule for times. The cost of the rehearsal class is priced the same as all other weekly classes and are 20-30 minutes, depending on age. Dancers will be provided with their performance troupe time following auditions.

Class Requirements for VDT:

Troupe members MUST be enrolled in the following classes, IN ADDITION to their rehearsal class. You do not need to register for the rehearsal class until AFTER auditions. We will provide you with which rehearsal class to register for. 

• Ages 4-6: 1 additional class and troupe rehearsal class. 

• Ages 7-9: Any 2 additional classes must be enrolled in a Jazz or Ballet class. Additional classes encouraged. Combo classes count for this age group but must be enrolled in two additional classes. 

• Ages 10+: Must be enrolled in a Jazz class, Ballet class, and an additional style of their choosing (Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap). Dancers must be enrolled in three additional classes, only one of the three classes can be a combo class.

 

How are teams split? What style dance routines will each team have? 

Dancers are placed where they best fit, which is why some ages overlap between the teams. Dancers will be placed where they will best excel and feel most confident. Each team within troupe will learn one team dance and a full VDT dance. All troupe teams will learn one dance to perform together.

Attire Requirements

All troupe dancers are required to have black leggings, a VDT tank top, and VDT jacket. Black leggings are purchased on your own and any brand is fine. The VDT Troupe tank will be purchased through the studio and be between $20-30. VDT jackets will be purchased through the studio and will be between $50-75. All dancers must purchase the required shoes tan jazz shoes. 

 

Performance Season: Where do we perform? 

Our performance season runs October – May. A performance schedule will be provided in the fall once performance dates are finalized: performance examples include Assisted Living facilities, a Cougars Game, NIU or Aurora University Basketball game, Windy City Bulls, and other local events. There will be about 5-6 performances. All performances are mandatory. Rehearsals the week before performances are mandatory. Recital participation is mandatory for all troupe dancers.

Auditions: Tuesday, August 12th 

Please register for auditions in our portal beginning Wednesday, July 9th. This is a “no-cut” team, but we have auditions on where to best place all dancers. 

Ages 4-6 (must be 4 by Sept. 1) *Tuesday, August 12th 4:30-5:30pm

Ages 7-9 (must be 7 by Sept. 1) *Tuesday, August 12th 5:30-6:30pm

Ages 10 & up (must be 10 by Sept. 1) *Tuesday, August 12th 6:30-7:30pm

Mandatory Choreography Camp Date: Thursday, August 28th TIME TBD
